Build Green in Telluride

We are at the brink of change: the season is changing.  Perfectly formed snowflakes fall outside my window as I type this first BLOG post.  The year is changing…2009, almost a decade into the 21st century already. The president of the United States is changing with the platform to bring much needed change to our country. The economy is changing, as huge corporations come crumbling down daily making way for a whole new system to be born.  The general consensus on environmental protection, alternative energy and conservation seems to be shifting towards acceptance and a change for the better.

Since EcoSpaces' inception in 2007, our motto has always been "Be Part of a Movement."  It is exciting to be riding the crest of this wave: feeling that the change that is among us is about to propel business, economy,  consumers, children, municipalities, institutions into the fall line of a green revolution.   I can feel that the change is on the way, and what for so long has been the "alternative" in healthy living will suddenly be mainstream.

Already, people are beginning to make purchasing decisions with social, responsible and environmental concerns in mind. Houses are being built that naturally generate their own energy.  Families are choosing to live in environments where they are no longer exposed to toxins in their daily lives.  The predicaments in the oil and automotive industry are making way for the masses to carve out a new more sustainable way.

It is an adventurous time to be involved in the Green Movement, and we hope that what appears to be a global "slow down" will give way to a fresh new foundation, where  GREEN ideas, communities, intentions, developments and  technologies are built upon this opportunity. We  hope you can join us on this adventure and ride the momentum of this movement with us.

Happy NEW YEAR!  I look forward to forming a new bogging community with you all.  I will be posting weekly based on the theme of sustainability and how living green is interwoven into all aspect of our daily lives. Enjoy and please subscribe if interested.  http://ecospaces.net/green_bldg_blog.html
